N. Main Street Bridge Rehabilitation
Welcome to The Chagrin Falls North Main Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project Portal. This site will be the official source for the most current information on the project and how it may impact life within and around town.
As with any project of this magnitude, you can expect that it may cause some changes in the usual and familiar ease with which you move about town. However, the village, county and construction firm are working together closely to minimize disruptions, and we’ll be providing advanced notices on this site and out in the community any time there’s an update on the project. We’ll also be holding meetings for various groups and the public in the coming days and weeks. All official communications on the project will come from Mayor Bill Tomko, Council President Angie DeBernardo, and the County.
We’ll be doing all we can to preserve life as usual during the project. But we’re also asking for your help and patience, too. We’re all in this together, and the more we look out for each other, and be kind to one another, the better off we’ll all be.
We’re excited that our historic bridge – our most iconic feature – is getting a much-needed facelift that will keep it structurally sound and improve its natural beauty for generations to come.
The Village was recently informed by Cuyahoga County that construction on the North Main Street Bridge is expected to start at the end of February 2024 and is anticipated to last through February 2026. The Village will remain open for business the duration of the project.
Cuyahoga County is planning to rehabilitate the North Main Street bridge over the Chagrin River in the Village of Chagrin Falls. Through the process of construction, the County will be working with the Village Engineer on items that integrate between the Village and the County project. These items include bridge lighting, easements, access to the bridge through village property, and traffic control and utility matters.
