Government
The Village of Chagrin Falls is governed by the Mayor and Village Council. Council Committees, Commissions and Boards hold meetings to deliberate, make decisions or recommendations to council pertaining to our government. Administratively, a Chief Administrative Officer executes day-to-day management of the government and supervises various department heads.
The Village of Chagrin Falls is governed by a charter document, originally adopted on November 6, 1962 and reviewed every 5 years and amended as needed. A municipal charter is the basic document that defines the organization, powers, functions and essential procedures of the village government. Codified Ordinances are a reflection of all local laws of a general or permanent nature. These laws are grouped in to component Codes, Title, Chapters, and Sections for improved reference.
