Fire Prevention Bureau

About

The Fire Prevention Bureau is primarily responsible for the enforcement of local, state, and federal laws pertaining to the prevention of fire and the maintaining of fire safe buildings throughout the communities we serve. These goals are accomplished through the regular inspection of commercial properties, schools, hospitals and multi-family dwellings as well as review of plans for new properties.

Fire Marshal - Enforcement and Inspection

The Fire Marshal works to prevent fires by enforcing fire safety compliance. Public events such as concerts and festivals bring an influx of people, vendors and temporary structures accessible by the public. Inspection is necessary prior to events taking place; gas leaks, fire lanes, building access, electrical hazards, and general safety requirements. Occupancy inspections are performed. The Fire Prevention Bureau conducts over 1,000 site inspections, fire suppression system approvals and building construction inspections annually.

Fire Prevention Educator - Education

The Fire Safety Educator provides fire education to children, families and the community with a goal to prevent loss of life and property.
