The meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m. by Chairman Steven Patton.

ORGANIZATION OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE DEPARTMENT

The Committee and Mr. Himes reviewed and discussed the proposed legislation.

Moved by Mr. Patton, seconded by Mrs. Evans that we recommend to Council the adoption of this particular ordinance. Carried. Ayes: Patton, Evans, Williams. Nays: None.

TAP-IN FEE SCHEDULE

Mr. Himes said in 1993 the engineer was asked to look at our tap-in fee schedule and develop a graduating schedule that went through the end of this year. He said he asked him to look at the fees again and update the schedule. The Committee reviewed the recommended, updated schedule.

Mr. Himes said they will have legislation prepared for the next Council meeting.

NEXTEL CONTRACT

Mr. Himes briefly explained the background and history and the specifics of the contract.

Moved by Mrs. Evans, seconded by Mr. Williams that we pass on Ordinance No. 2008-68 to Council for their approval. Carried. Ayes: Patton, Evans, Williams. Nays: None.

BID REVIEW - WATER METERS AND FIRE HYDRANTS

Mr. Himes said two bids were received for fire hydrants and HD Supply Waterworks was the low bid at $1,749 per fire hydrant. The bid two years ago was $1,524. Typically the Village buys about 10 hydrants per year. HD Supply Waterworks was the only bid for water meters at $136.70 per meter. The bid two years ago was 133.00. Typically the Village buys between 150 to 200 meters per year.

Moved by Mr. Patton, seconded by Mr. Williams that the Committee recommend to Council that we enter into an agreement with HD Supply Waterworks for the fire hydrants and the water meters. Carried. Ayes: Patton, Evans, Williams. Nays: None.
