The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Steven Patton.

2009 PROPOSED BUDGET

Mayor Brick gave an overview of the budget and explained that Village officials are planning and budgeting both in the short-term and in the long-term. He discussed the projected General Fund deficit and how the new replacement levy should eliminate most of that shortfall in 2010.

Mr. Himes gave the committee a list of items that have been eliminated from the budget to reduce the deficit.

Mr. Bloom explained the estimated 2009 revenues; the Fire Chief, Police Chief, Service Director, and Utilities Superintendent discussed their sections of the budget. Mr. Himes and Mr. Bloom explained the remaining sections.

It was agreed to put the proposed budget on readings for the March 9, 2009 Council meeting, with the intention of adopting it on March 23, 2009.

The meeting adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
